CVE-2009-3840 - Schwachstelle in der embedded Database Engine des
OpenView Network Node Managers

  Der HP OpenView Network Node Manager (OV NNM) enthaelt einen
  eingebetteten Datenbank Service (ovdbrun.exe), der auf Port 2690/TCP
  erreichbar und per Default aktiviert ist. In diesem Dienst wird der
  Fehlercode eines eingehenden Paketes nicht korrekt ueberprueft, was zum
  Absturz des Dienstes fuehrt. Angreifer koennen diese Schwachstelle ueber
  das Netz dazu ausnutzen, den Dienst zum Absturz zu bringen (Denial of
  Service).

Betroffen sind die folgenden Software Pakete und Plattformen:

  HP OpenView Network Node Manager (OV NNM) v7.51, v7.53

  HP-UX, Linux, Solaris, Windows

Vom Hersteller werden ueberarbeitete Pakete zur Verfuegung gestellt.
